East Midlands Tourism

East Midlands Tourism (EMT), emda's (East Midlands Development Agency) dedicated tourism body, is responsible for developing this key industry. It's corporate plan for 2005 to 2008 outlines key tourism targets for the region, and draws on Destination East Midlands, the region's tourism strategy.

EMT is responsible for overseeing the successful implementation of these targets as well as allocating funding and measuring success.

Promotion of the region's destinations is handled by five Destination Management Partnerships, EMT's delivery partners:

These organisations are the first point of contact for visitors and the tourism industry.

East Midlands Tourism is a key funder for the Tourism Research Intelligence Partnership (TRIP).
