Dr Paul Downward’s work at the Institute of Sport & Leisure Policy relates to sports, recreational and tourism research. Research at the Institute embraces recreational and competitive sports tourism activity in both urban and rural environments. Aspects of this research have been funded and supported by SUSTRANS, OneNE , UK Sport, Sport England and the East Midlands Development Agency. The work falls into four broad areas:
